Diving Liveaboard Cruises Micronesia, Truk Lagoon & Palau

Simply the best wreck diving in the world !

The Federated States of Micronesia is composed of the island states of Yap, Chuuk (Truk), Pohnpei (Ponape), and Kosrae, all in the Caroline Islands. The islands vary geologically from high mountainous islands to low coral atolls, with volcanic outcroppings on Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Chuuk (Truk). They are located 3,200 mi (5,150 km) west-southwest of Hawaii, in the North Pacific Ocean.

Truk Lagoon: Over 70 dive sites, most of them shipwrecks from WWII Japanese fleet, are to be found within the confines of Truk Lagoon, making it the wreck diving capital of the world. Most sit in their defined anchorages - the Fourth Fleet, the Sixth Fleet or the Repair Anchorages, which covers an area of less than 20 sq miles. Truk (Chuuk) is a warm water shipwreck paradise, where huge warships have become artificial coral reefs, harboring magnificent and colorful marine life.

On board the SS Thorfinn, you will dive 5 different wrecks a day! There are 30 wrecks commonly dived. Groups of divers (based on diving level, experience, and particular interests) go out in dingies to a variety of sites.

The SS Thorfinn accommodates 22 divers plus crew. Customers are accommodated in refurbished spacious comfortable double/twin cabins, and the meal plan features an international buffet.

Truk offers wrecks to suit any level of diver, from newly certified open water divers to old sea dogs of diving, as depths are set by the individuals making the dives, yet we do have established guidelines and set safety standards. Some of our guides have been diving these wrecks for over 15 years, and they are the most experienced dive crew in the lagoon. They can hold hands with the very newest diver or allow more experienced and confident divers to help in the planning of dives.
