Diving Packages and Liveaboards in Malaysia: Sipadan, Layang, Redang and Tioman Islands


     One of the most amazing countries of South East Asia, Malaysia is bordered north with Thailand and south with Singapore. The particularity of Malaysia is that it is divided into two distinct areas : peninsular Malaysia, part of mainland Asia, and East Malaysia with the states of Sabah and Sarawak, which are situated on the second biggest island in the world: Borneo.

     The weather follows the same patterns as Thailand with two distinct rainy seasons on the east and west coasts. Langkawi, a pristine island on the northwest coast of Malaysia near the Thai border, has its dry season between October and April. Tioman, Sipadan, Redang and Layang Layang on the east coast have their dry seasons during the months of April to October.

Langkawi


  


     Situated on the northwest coast of Malaysia, Langkawi and its surrounding mangroves and islands (including the national park of Pulau Payar), is a pristine destination for divers and non-divers alike. Pulau Payar represents some of the most amazing marine life in South East Asia with its schools of dogtooth tunas, snappers,  jacks and occasional reef sharks, jewel and malabar groupers and fantastic soft corals for the reef residents. The place is wonderfully settled and will delight divers and snorkellers alike. 
     Langkawi also presents an excellent variety of culinary arts, amazing landscape and sightseeing as well as one of the best shopping destinations in Asia. The island, a development project of the Malaysian government, is a totally duty free zone. Langkawi is accessible by plane from Kuala Lumpur. The best season for water activities is October until April.
