Diving Livaboards and Sailing Cruises in Burma, Myanmar |
|
|
|
Burma, also known as
Myanmar, is becoming increasingly in
demand in the diving world for its remoteness and pristine dive sites. Although,
Burma, also known today as Myanmar, hasn't yet achieved a strong model of
democracy with a military junta ruling the country, Burmese people are among the
kindest people in South East Asia, and eager to meet and communicate with
foreigners. We are offering a true Burmese water experience with this unique cruise on board S.Y. Amadeus, an Australian made catamaran of 13 meters, with aluminum hull. Completely design for cruising and diving in Brisbane, she caters for a maximum of 8 passengers in queen size, double and single fanned cabins. Cruises are designed on a 6,8, or 10 days format and will bring divers to the most beautiful under water landscapes in the region together with the Similan islands. The longest cruises will allow the visit and dive the now world famous Burma Banks, where the abundant pelagic marine life, including the famous "silver tip" sharks, and the Mergui Archipelago. Divers will land in Phuket, where they will be transported by mini bus (4 hours drive) to the town of Ranong on the Burmese border, then cross by small local ferries to the fascinating border city of Victoria Point on Burmese territories. After the crew will have organized all entry permits (costing an extra 100 to 140 US$ in cash US funds, depending of the region visited), which will leave a few hours for shopping and visiting this border post, divers will embark late afternoon on the S.Y. Amadeus for a night sailing. The next day will see the divers on site for their first dives... |
